Binaural Beats, SLEEPforSURE, Brain Entrainment

The phenomenon of binaural beats was discovered back in 1839 by H. W. Dove, but you may have experienced the phenomenon when hearing a musical instrument being tuned. A binaural beat occurs when two slightly different pure tones are introduced to each ear. The brain hears a vibration that is the mathematical difference between the two tones.

Let's try it.

When the Left Ear and Right Ear are both playing, the binaural beat is heard.

Graphically we can visualize two tones as drops of water in a still pond.

Both tones make perfect circles (sound waves) until they are interrupted by each other. This interruption or inference pattern is the binaural beat and it's frequency is the difference between tones. If you had two pure tones, tone A at 100 hertz and tone B at 104 hertz, (waves per second) the binaural beat would be 4 hertz.

How do binaural beats help me sleep?

For thousands of years many ancient cultures have used rhythmic beats and chanting in ceremonial practices and meditation. Shamans, Yogis, Tibetan Monks and healers in many traditions have used rhythm and chanting to alter their states of consciousness. Now science is able to show why.

Myth? Science explains the Shaman's Power!

Frequency Follow Response allows the Shaman to enter an altered state of consciousness. States of consciousness are related to and effected by brainwave frequency.

If a tuning fork designed to produce a frequency of 500 Hz is hit, causing it to ring, and then brought into the vicinity of another 500 Hz tuning fork, the second tuning fork will begin to ring too. The first tuning fork is said to have "entrained" the second or caused it to resonate.

The physics of entrainment apply to biological systems as well, in particular, the electrochemical waves of the brain. The electrochemical activity of the brain results in the production of electromagnetic wave forms which can be objectively measured with sensitive equipment (EEG). Brain waves change frequencies based on neural activity within the brain.

Because neural activity is electrochemical, brain function can be modified through the introduction of specific chemicals (drugs), or similarly altered with resonant entrainment. This technique has been coined Brainwave Entrainment.

A sleeping pill changes the electrochemical signals in the brain which alter the brainwave frequency. Binaural Beats have the same effect on your brain as a sleeping pill, with out the risk of dependency, or side effects.

Left and Right Brain Cooperation

Binaural beats are not actually heard. They are experienced in the brainstem when both tones are combined in the brain. The Binaural Beat cannot be perceived unless both the right and left sides of the brain are working together. Binaural Beats create whole brain harmony, so stereo headphones are necessary.

Dialing in to Sleep

With an EEG machine researchers can see brain wave frequencies associated with states of consciousness and sleep. Binaural beats can be designed to dial into the specific brainwaves of sleep and because of the Frequency Follow Response phenomenon, your biological system (your brain) will automatically sync up (entrain) to the sleep frequencies. Be as skeptical as you want, it is a physiological phenomenon and you cannot build up a tolerance. Binaural Beats activate neurotransmitters in the brain to dial in to the desired brain-wave frequency. Mixed into music, binaural beats are highly effective even when they can't be perceived.

For more than 75 years Brainwave Entrainment has proven safe and effective with countless studies and clinical research.

Synthesis of Science and Ancient Wisdom.

This powerful combination of tradition and technology ensures that the listener will engage, relax and fall asleep, and wake up more rested, naturally by inducing healthy sleep and cultivating peace of mind.

You can listen to samples of my composed music that utilizes binaural beats for Relaxation, Dreaming, Deep Sleep, and Revitalization of the body and mind. I am excited to share my music, and the science behind it. Check it out at: www.SLEEPforSURE.com

  1. I would love to stop by. But, I think it might have to wait until this summer. I did not know that Serlkay had ever expanded its size. I must say that a succesful family owned business in this day and age is a very refreshing sight! As well as this is a very refreshing site! http://www.brainwavelove.com
